Album review: Smothered In Hugs – The Healing Power of Injury
Got a advance download copy of Smothered In Hugs album “The Healing Power of Injury”.
The album will be officially release on Feb 10, 2009
They are a band from Charlottetown, PEI.
And members are:
- Ryan Crane
- Aaron Crane
- Todd MacLean
- Josh Byrne
- Andrew Murray
I make this short and will revise later this because its late right now.
Overall this is a great album.
Has that Eastcoast poppy rock sound that is big with bands like Two Hours Traffic and The Danks.
I really enjoy the catchy indie pop and rock that is on this 13 track album.
Best tracks:
- Blank Test
- Visa Problems
- Even Brothers
- At The Coat Check
- Cut Loose
- The River
Go and grab this album
Hoping they will make a stop in Ottawa for a show.

It’s actually a re-release…I got it from them last summer, and then they got signed to THT’s label. I don’t hear the similarity between them and THT or The Danks…more The Replacements.
smothered in hugs are not signed to THT’s label.
Collagen Rock Records is not THT’s label. It is a collective formed by Smothered In Hugs, Two Hours Traffic, Mardeen, and the Danks. All good friends, all talented bands, all coming from the same emerging scene and ready to take the world by storm.
