Radiohead – These Are My Twisted Word
Feeling slow with the news about the new Radiohead single “These Are My Twisted Word”.
Its been over two years since Radiohead released “In Rainbows” and a long time since Kid A.
The band being innovator has decided to release the song free.
To be honest, I still haven’t heard Harry Patch (In Memory Of).
Two words on These Are My Twisted Word:
LOVE IT!!

Review: Belle and Sebastian – The BBC Sessions

I know its not the right album to get me started with the band Belle and Sebastian.
I really love the BBC Sessions album cover and yes I know you shouldn’t judge an album by its cover.
Unless someone comments and tell me which album to start off from them.
I’ve heard of them but was not familiar to their music. Considering I used to buy issues of the magazine Q and they had a thing where their first album Tigerlily was out of print but is available now due to a better record label. Now finding the original copy on vinyl is totally hard to find now.
But I decided to check out this album.
Just because it had BBC in it and anything that has BBC should be good. Am I right?
Belle and Sebastian is going to be one of those acts that I will never get to see live in concert.
Totally an underrated band and surprised on how a committed fanbase they have while reading up on them.

Review: Lily Allen – It’s Not Me, It’s You
It’s Not Me, It’s You is the title of Lily Allen’s new album.
The titles in my opinion is an easy excuse for breaking up with someone or not wanting to deal with someone.
For Lily Allen she wants to tell the whole world that she can’t deal with all the stuff in her life.
After three years since her debut album “Alright, Still“, Lily is back in action with this sophomore effort.
I’ve been a fan of Lily’s music since her debut song “Smile”.
With a young artist like her, there is seem to be alot of scrutiny from the media.
I am really enjoying this album.
Gone are the 2-Step, Garage (the British way of saying it) sound.
Also gone is Mark Ronson producing this album.
It was stated that Lily wanted to take a new direction and move out of the retro-classic sound that made Mr.Ronson famous.
But she still has that witty, tongue and cheek lyrics like in the track like Never Gonna Happen and F**k You
The album has more of that pop electro-dancey feel to it.
Lily has made this album very personal and it shows it from tracks like Everyone’s At It, The Fear Who’d Have Known.
The track Not Fair has that western sound to it which kind of feels a little awkward but it will get me a few listens to like it.
There is a softer sound in tracks like Who’d Have Known and Him.
Never Gonna Happen has that klezmer mixed with the chirpy pop sound.
With this new album you can tell that Lily is growing up as a person and wants to be taken seriously with her music and not her personal life.
Happy that I pre-ordered the iTunes version since I got two bonus tracks which is the acoustic version of The Fear and He Wasn’t There
Best tracks:
- Everyone’s At It
- The Fear
- Back to the Start (My favorite after the Fear)
- F**k You
- Who’d Have Known
- He Wasn’t There.
Big fan of Lily so buy this album.
Its a new direction that she has taken in this new album.
Pre-ordered It’s Not Me, It’s You by Lily Allen

I decided to pre-order Lily Allen’s second album It’s Not Me, It’s You on iTunes.
With the pre-order I get 2 bonus tracks which are the acoustic tracks of The Fear and He Wasn’t There.
The album drops on Feb 10, 2009
Already loving her song The Fear.
Heard the previews on iTunes and I liking tracks which are “Everyone’s At It”, “I Could Say”, “Back To The Start”, “F**k You (I kind of giggled hearing it)”
Hearing bits and pieces it has that poppy dance to it.
Not sure if expectations are high after Alright, Still, considering its her second album.
With the second album there is the sophomore curse.
For me I don’t really care just as long the music is good and her fanbase isn’t turning their backs on her.
I find the British public can be abit harsh, its like they want you to succeed and while you are successful they will take you down.
Its different with Canada and the USA, they want you to go for the top.
Heck she is on the cover of SPIN magazine.
Anyways I can’t wait for the album.
Single Review: Lily Allen – The Fear
Lily Allen is back!! Love her or hate her. She is outspoken (Her spat with Katy Perry) which you got to admire or not.
I decided to get the single The Fear off iTunes.
I’ve been a fan since her first song Smile.
Its a different Lily Allen.
Considering her turmoils with fame, drugs, drinking, lovelife and losing a baby.
Its the music that counts in my opinion.
The single is taken from the upcoming album It’s Not Me, It’s You
The song is very poppy and dancey.
But listen to the listen to the lyrics carefully.
Can’t wait what the new album will bring.
Single review: Leona Lewis – Run
OK I know the song was originally done by Snow Patrol.
Love her or hate her she is very big in the UK thanks to X-Factor (UK’s version of American Idol) and while in the USA, Bleeding Love is still being played.
She just re-released her debut simply called “Spirit – Deluxe Edition” in time for the Christmas frentic holiday sale.
I still love Snow Patrol’s version.
Hearing this version by Leona made it more ballady and emotional.
Not to overshadow Snow Patrol, but they are already famous now thanks to another song which I won’t name due to being overplayed too much.
Leona version is poppy and has that big finish ending.
Easy to sing along too.
So yeah, I love this verison alot now!
Very happy that iTunes Canada has the single available now.
So no need for me to get the “Deluxe Edition” now.
Read that the album is already back to #1 in the UK.
People are going crazy just to get this version of the song.
Its already made it to #1 in the singles chart.
Portishead – Third (Review)
Its been 11 years since Portishead last released a record.
And those 11 long years have been a good wait.
On April 28, 2008 Third (weird title IMO) was released.

Sugababes – Girls
I swear Sugababes keeps revolving their memebers like a Broken Social Scene.
They released their single called Girls.
So far this song after a few listen has actually grown on me. Unlike previous Sugababes songs while the first listen I will actually like it.
The song is fun, funky and danceful.
They are one of those acts besides all the drama that has happened are still surviving.
As long they have songs that isn’t old and stale so people will like them.
Don’t get why Sugababes haven’t gotten big in North America yet.
I just wish iTunes Canada will have the same stuff that UK iTunes has.
Question of the day: Beatles and iTunes
My question to all of you, whoever reads this.
Would you say if The Beatles will be out on iTunes be a good or bad thing?
Would it revolutionize the downloading in today’s music?
I read that true Beatles fans are complaining that ever since the age of CDs.
That the CD version of the album aren’t excellent in the sound quality.
So what do you thing?
